Your Rehabilitation, In Your Hands

With any life-changing injury or event, individuals will face unique challenges as they move towards the next chapter in their lives.

More than professionals and specialists, Minds Matter, LLC staff are advocates who help people with brain injuries discover success through consumer-driven brain injury rehabilitation in Kansas. We help people feel supported and valued throughout their process, making it possible for people to relearn skills, reinvent their environments, and reconnect with their community.

How Our Process Works

Intake

The first step to starting brain injury rehabilitation is to meet with an intake coordinator to discover basic information about the consumer’s current living situation. We also use these initial discussions to learn about your specific needs, challenges, and long-term goals—while also assessing your environment and identifying any potential obstacles. You will be included every step of the way

Re-learn

Many people who have experienced a brain injury navigate challenges related to re-learning the daily life skills needed to live independently. Minds Matter uses a wide range of resources and expertise to collaboratively develop a customized rehabilitation plan for the needs of our consumers. This can include everything from therapy services to informational resources related to education, vocational skills, and more.

Re-invent

Part of learning to live with a life-altering event is to adjust a person’s environment to fit the needs of their new lifestyle. This can include making modifications to both a person’s home and living environment, as well as their daily routines. Minds Matter works with individuals and families to provide the systems necessary for a person to live independently while receiving help from a caregiver when needed. By taking steps to reinvent living and work environments as well as daily routines, opportunities for success multiply through brain injury rehabilitation in Kansas.

Re-connect

The ultimate goal of Minds Matter isn’t to make people forget about their situation. Instead, it’s to help people learn to live with it in a manner that sets them up for long-term success. One of the most crucial aspects of this is providing consumers with the support necessary to reconnect to the people, places, and passions that matter to them. When individuals feel connected to their community, they are far more likely to achieve their goals and gain lifelong confidence.
