Our Story

The story of Minds Matter, LLC begins with two families who couldn’t find an agency to help return their loved ones home after experiencing a brain injury. This lead them to Dr. Janet Williams, PhD, who agreed to help them by using her knowledge of brain injuries and case management. While using her expertise to assist these two families, Janet quickly realized the important role that relationships and community resources play in helping individuals and families adapt to life post-injury.

Changing How Care is Approached

Janet then set out to design a customized system of support and services that put the individual at the center of their care. Decades later, this model has been the foundation of how Minds Matter, LLC supports its consumers and their families. To this day, the leadership at Minds Matter continues to advocate for individuals by eliminating the barriers to prevent them from being independent.

We will never waiver in our mission to empower individuals to live life on their terms—ensuring they have every opportunity to live, work, and play in their communities.

Our Pride. Our Joy. Our People.

Thank you for being such an amazing organization! Your team was priceless to us when our son came home 3 years ago after his TBI. I wish we were in a place where I could make a career change because I would do it in a heartbeat 💜

Minds Matter LLC Is a lifesaver! They've been there for me ever since the beginning when I was first at KU Medical Center! They're a true blessing in my life, if it wasn't for them and their wonderful staff, therapists and everyone involved. I wouldn't be as far as I am now and where I'm at today!

The therapists are AWESOME! I'm actually glad I have had to open up my home to them. It is wonderful to have an agency like this available. I have learned so much from them, and they are so willing to help me, the caregiver. We are not alone!!
