About Jennifer Vaughn

Bio

Jenny Sykes Vaughn is a speech-language pathologist (SLP) and has been with Minds Matter since January 2021. She is a native Kansan with strong ties to the military and aviation, growing up in Rose Hill and attending KU from 1989-1994 where she graduated with a BS in Mathematics and then WSU in 2013 with her graduate degree for speech therapy. Speech Therapy is her second career, the first being an army spouse and moving her family 5 times in 17 years and living in amazing places like Honolulu, HI and Silver Spring, MD. Prior to working at Minds Matter, she worked for Butler County Special Education Interlocal, providing speech services to students grades 2-12. Jenny now lives in Wichita with her husband, Jeff, and their dog, Sammie and two cats, Tiger Lily and Pixie. They have two adult daughters, Gracie, recent graduate of Newman University & Abby who is a junior at KU. Her favorite part of her job is seeing the amazing progress consumers make with Minds Matter top-notch therapists! She is inspired everyday by all the good Minds Matter does in Wichita!

Fun Facts

She produces a podcast called “Kiteflying” with her sister Mandy, helping people find their inner GenX. Jenny is obsessed with the Outlander book series and loves coffee, soccer and the Green Bay Packers.
