About Melody Baker
Bio
Melody Baker started with Communityworks as the Topeka POD Leader in April, 2012. Melody moved into the Regional Rehabilitation Director position with Minds Matter, LLC in January, 2013. Melody obtained her Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Emporia State University in 1997. Melody is licensed with the Kansas BSRB as a LPC and is also a Certified Brain Injury Specialist. Melody has spent over 15 years working in the field of Brain Injury and prior to that she worked in child welfare, mental health and quality assurance/improvement positions. Melody’s loves her position and supporting individuals who have experienced a brain injury to remain in their home, to regain their highest level of independence, while always advocating for consumer choice and consumer driven services. Melody enjoys assisting and overseeing therapists who support consumers in achieving their goals and dreams.
Fun Facts
Melody has 3 children (Lexi-24, Morgyn-18 and Will-12) and 1 granddaughter (Ryder Renee-4 months). Melody spends her free time with her family, and A LOT of time in the gym and at the ballfields. Melody loves athletics and is an avid Kansas Jayhawk and KC Chiefs fan. Melody also enjoys reading inspirational quotes and listening to motivational speakers. Melody still holds Osage City Middle School’s 7th grade 400m dash and 4X100 relay records.
